Whiskey is a drink with so much rich history that there are hosts of records entailed. From the oldest distilleries, most expensive brands, to the oldest, there is a record etched into almost every part of the whiskey industry.

Most Expensive Bottle of Whiskey
The Macallan Whiskey brand is an exotic choice. That was further proven in 2014 when a bottle of Macallan M Decanter-Constantine. The 6-litre bottle is the largest Macallan ever released. It came with a crystal decanter made by renowned French jewellers Lalique. The drink is the last of a series of four decanters all named after different Roman emperors.
Oldest Bottle of Whiskey
The Glenavon Special Liqueur Whisky holds the record for being the oldest bottle of whiskey in the world. The 40ml bottle is believed to have been bottled between 1851 and 1858 by the now-closed Glenavon (pronounced glen-AHN) Distillery from Ballindoch, Scotland.
Largest Bottle of Whiskey
Distillers of The Famous Grouse once created a bottle of the whiskey that stood 1.7 metres tall (5 ft, 7 in) and contained 228 litres of whiskey. The bottle was unveiled at the Famous Grouse Experience in Crieff, Perthshire. The unveiling coincided with the anniversary of the brand.
Smallest Bottle of Whiskey
The Guinness records list White Horse blended whiskey as the smallest bottle of whiskey in the world. Cumbrae Supply Limited in Scotland, creators of the small bottle of White Horse are also responsible for small bottles of other whiskey brands in the world that can hold 1.3 millilitres of booze.
Bar with the most whiskeys on display
Glenesk Hotel, located in Angus, Scotland, was crowned with the Guinness record of ‘the most variety of whiskeys commercially available’ anywhere in the world. The hotel’s bar has 1031 different whiskeys on offer. Hotel co-owner Dylan Wren also has his private collection on display all over the hotel, comprising more than 3000 bottles.
