Bitters and Ale

Bitters and Ale

Ales are rich complex beer types with a more yeasty flavour than lagers. Fermentation for ales take place at a high temperature so the yeasts can act quickly on the brew. For most ales, fermentation period occurs within two weeks. There are different types of ales including Pale Ales, Indian Pale Ale, Brown Ale, Porters and German Wheat Beer. Bitter is an English term for Pale Ale and came from brewers who wanted to differentiate these ales from other mild brews.  Most bitters  are gold to copper in colour and are light bodied.
