December promises to be fun in Lagos as the city is set to host the first ever International Drinks Festival in a gathering of stakeholders in the alcohol/beverage industry.

Brand owners, retailers, drink lovers and holiday fun seekers will besiege the heart of the city to experience a fanfare atmosphere at Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island between 1 and 3 December, 2017.

In a press conference held at the Federal Palace Hotel on Thursday last week, Chief Executive Officer, Balmoral Events Solution Company, Ezekiel Adamu, revealed that the festival is an opportunity for various drink professionals, industry enthusiasts and customers to ask questions and interact with the drink experts.

According to him, “the festival will also have a lot of interactive fun events to lighten up the atmosphere and introduce various brands to the general public.”

More than 10,000 consumers and 5,000 professionals will meet with over 200 exhibitors during the festival, with insight on current trends in beverage production, marketing, government policies and distribution to be discussed. This will tandem with a great networking for participants at the festival.

The festival will prove an interesting platform for professionals in the hospitality industry, mixologists, club owners, hotel owners and managers, brand managers and ambassadors, liquor and soft drinks buyers, sommeliers, bartenders, restaurant and bar managers, bottling companies, and consumers to interact in a warm, carnival-like atmosphere.

Drink brands, suppliers, Merchants and wholesalers, brewers, importers, manufacturers and service providers will be exhibiting at the festival. For exhibitors, the festival provides the outlay to distribute product samples, increase sales, gain direct access to the press, conduct market research, allow direct customer and market interaction, promote a positive image for the industry.

The event will also offer master classes on cocktails, wine, beers, and other beverage categories. Festival highlights will include the cocktail lounge, wine tasting session, bar wars, free tasting, water bars, canter stage, drinks market, networking sessions, beer village and experience Nigeria (an exhibition of local brews in the country).

Festival attendants will also get a free magazine which will be distributed at the event, with a list of all the exhibitors.

According to a Euro monitor International reports, Nigeria consumed 36.68 million litres of soft drinks in 2016, its spirits market is worth $6 billion and beer accounts for 55% of the total market share. This means that Balmoral’s First-Ever International Drinks Festival is coming at a highly significant period in the industry’s growth.
