The Douglas Green Pinotage has an attractive crimson depth with a purple hue on the rim. It has generous ripe strawberry and raspberry fruit on the nose brushed with dark chocolate and caramel hints. Plush and juicy on entry with an ample mouthful of juicy fruit well-supported by soft, ripe tannins and discreet oak spice. This wine finishes with soft sleek cherry and berry flavours.
DGB Ltd was formally established in 1990, but their true roots extend over 300 years when winemaking began at the Boschendal and Bellingham farms in the Cape Winelands. The company has been doing things a little differently since the 1940s, when Douglas Green pioneered the wholesale sales model for wine in Paarl. Today, they are one of South Africas largest independent wine and spirit producers and distributors. DGB wines are exported directly to over 70 countries and through third parties to another 30 countries.
